It worked.

About

It all started on Wed. Dec. 2nd, 2009.  I saw Headblade tweet about a job opening for Marketing Manager, and created the “Hire Me, Headblade” campaign that morning.  Within 8 hours of launching the Facebook page, Twitter & blog/site, I received a call from Headblade’s headquarters in Culver City, CA.  A full 24 hours later, I was being interviewed over the phone by Todd Greene, CEO/Founder/Designer of Headblade.

After flying out to LA, meeting with the Headblade team, and interviewing with Todd, I was offered the position of Marketing Manager on 12/10/09.  This has been an incredible experience from start to finish. And it’s only beginning — the real work begins now.  I’m honored to join such a dynamic, ambitious company like Headblade.

I will be blogging on this site from now (12/14/09) until 1/11/10, my official start date in Los Angeles.  Hope you’ll join me on my journey Westward….

  1. Congrats. As a Headblade user myself (that lives down the street from Culver City), and one of the recently unemployed, it’s great to see some real creativity in finding a job.

    Congrats again.

  2. I’ve got to say, I’m extremely intrigued by your process and approach to finding a work opportunity with HeadBlade. Last week my dad read about Todd Greene and his entrepreneurial pursuit. He told me about it yesterday so I decided to look up the company myself. As a long time head-shaver, I was excited to hear about with a company that shares a similar passion of mine. Sporting the chrome dome is not just a look, it’s a lifestyle. This is a notion that HeadBlade and myself share in common. Because of alopecia areata, I have been cleanly shaving my head since I was 15 years old. I am now 23 and the look has become an integral part of my identity. I understand that others struggle with baldness, but what they need to know is that the earlier they accept it, the better off and further improved their life will be. You begin to realize that some things in life are out of your control. Once that happens, you feel a heightened sense of ability and persistence in anything that you CAN do. You stop dwelling on the the events, conditions, etc. that are out of your power and begin to see the various opportunities that life provides. Some tasks may be difficult to accomplish, but, as corny as it may sound, if there’s a will there’s a way.

If you have a chance, I would really appreciate it if you sent me a quick e-mail. I would like an opportunity to talk to you about possible job opportunities with the HeadBlade and how I can become an integral member of the company.

    Thank you,

    Matt
